ENTRY TO SCULPTURE ON THE SHORE 2021

‘OUT THE GATE’ This work represents a farm gate and is made from weatherboards and floorboards, this has a direct link to NS Woman’s Refuge as woman often endangered and trapped in their home environment. The weatherboards represent the house. The No.8 wire wrapped around and through the gate resembles the resilience of nature taking over. Unlike most farm gates, this gate unlocked, there is nothing but fear stopping us from walking through it and leaving the past behind, but sometimes it’s much easier said than done.
